Teeth whitening instructions and teeth whitening procedure

When using our products we recommended that you follow the instructions carefully, this will ensure that you get the best results possible. It is important that you complete the teeth whitening procedure as outlined, many first time users are often over excited ,wanting results immediately. This often causes first time user to over apply the teeth whitening gel! This is a massive no no and can cause irritation to the gums and soft tissue, the gel is meant for hard enamel not for gums!!

Without further ado, let us begin, if you have purchased Thermoforming trays from us we recommend that you create these first. Now, boil and bite trays as they are often known can be a little tricky to master, so we recommend that you take your time with this section, to ensure that you get it right.

Thermoforming Trays (boil and bite trays teeth whitening instructions

Thermoforming trays (boil and bite trays) are used for the application of whitening gel and ensure even distribution. As previously outlined they can be tricky, so you will want to practice before delving straight in.  In order to form the trays you will need to practice your sucking technique, that’s right, sucking. Grit your teeth firmly together and draw the air through your gritted teeth, almost in the same manner as when you’re in pain, or when it freezing cold outside and you’re shivering, practice this a few times to ensure that the teeth whitening procedure is effective.

Boil a kettle and pour the contents in a suitable heat resistant container. Place the tray into the water by holding the tab.  Hold in the water for 3-4 seconds without swirling or shaking the trays, this will deform the trays keep them as still as possible.

Fitting the trays

After 3-4 seconds lift the tray out of the water, allow to cool for 2 seconds letting any excess water drain away and then place the tray on your upper teeth bite down hard ensuring your tongue is in contact with the roof of your mouth and suck the air through your teeth to mould the tray. Repeat for the lower teeth. Trim the tray so they are in line with your gums, once again be careful, you only want to trim to them gum line not below, now remove the tab.

Brush and floss prior to bleaching your teeth, without toothpaste as this reduced the effectiveness , the whitening gel is most effective with clean, debris free teeth. If you are prone to sensitivity use your preferred sensitive toothpaste after the treatment.

Home teeth whitening procedure

Using a cotton bud paint a small amount of gel on the visible teeth surfaces only i.e. the front of the first 8 teeth DO NOT apply to your molars.  It is important you only apply the gel to the centre of  the tooth leaving 2-3ml  gap between the gum line as the gel will expand , WE DO NOT WANT THE GEL TO TOUCH THE GUMS AT ALL insert the moulded tray over teeth. Ensure that you do not overload the trays, less than a quarter of a pea size is sufficient for each tooth, failing to follow this instruction may lead to bleached gums, rather than bleached teeth. For those who have custom trays and have bleached before, please continue to follow these rules for application

Be sure to remove any gel that comes in contact with gums or soft tissue to prevent irritation.  For first time users the recommended bleaching time is 15-30 minutes.
